Chairman
Lawrence A. Buckland, Jr.Beginning his business career at NCR Corporation, Larry Buckland enjoyed 15 years in mini-computer systems sales and management. Shortly thereafter, he was hired as a Vice President for Perfect Computer, Inc., where he devised an automatic shipment program. Based on his experience and ambition, Buckland then co-founded and was the managing partner for Miller & Buckland, an information management company. In response to a growing internal communications issue, Buckland established The Buckland Group in 1987. Leading the company, Buckland developed the innovative Sales Forum Series, offering overall departmental synchronization for sales and similar company divisions, giving businesses the advantage to better serve their customers. Beginning with the Nalley companies, clientsncluded Morrison's, Inc., as well as additional enterprises, fields of telecommunications, and computers. The Sales Forum Series became the precursor for The Innovation Forums, designed to establish organic, outperforming environments allowing companies to convert red taped bureaucracies into effective, independent business organisms. These engagements helped management create businesses from job descriptions, replacing routine-based job details into a well-rounded set of skills. The specialty of the skill set, in turn, considered the potential impact on other peers, departments, suppliers, and customers. Clients enjoyed increased communications and engaged, well-rounded specialists, all responsible for increasing margin and revenue, while cutting waste and fulfilling their personal and corporate charters. A healthy increase on the bottom line was always a by-product of helping management serve the new front lines, making use of what emerged from a higher-level corporate dynamic. After co-founding Mi3, Incorporated, Buckland’s Innovation Forums became the crux of Mi3’s satellite business model, affecting its current and future vision and operations. Buckland enjoys extensive reading, chess, fly-fishing, classical guitar, oil painting, and has just celebrated his fortieth wedding anniversary. He has been known on several occasions to help feed the homeless at Cafe 458 and his friend’s restaurant. Board Members (Ranked alphabetically)
